SellStack 365 Cannabis can operate as a B2B storefront, a B2C storefront, or a hybrid configuration. The type of storefront determines who can access it and what they see when they arrive.

Access Modes Overview

Mode Access Control ERP Requirement Typical Use
B2B Account-role-gated; requires authenticated login Contact record in 365 Cannabis linked to a Business; activated in SellStack Wholesale ordering, business accounts, restricted pricing
B2C Public, typically protected by an age-gate No ERP contact required unless customer account creation is enabled Consumer retail storefronts, public marketing pages
MEO (Multi-Entity) Separate accounts per SellStack instance; no cross-instance access ERP contact and activation required per instance Multi-brand or multi-region operations with distinct storefronts

B2B Storefront Access

A B2B storefront is account-role-gated. Only authenticated business contacts with valid roles can access pricing, inventory, and ordering. These accounts originate in 365 Cannabis ERP as Contact records linked to a customer Business (Customer Card).

  • The Contact must exist in 365 Cannabis with a valid email address
  • The Contact must be linked to a Business in 365 Cannabis
  • The Contact must have completed email verification and password setup in SellStack

Until all steps are complete, the administrator will see the account in the Admin Panel but the contact will not be able to log in.

B2C Storefront Access

A B2C storefront is generally publicly accessible but protected by an age-gate to ensure compliance with cannabis retail regulations. Visitors must confirm they meet the legal minimum age before viewing products.

  • Age verification can be a simple prompt or an integrated verification service, depending on configuration
  • Optional customer account creation can be enabled for loyalty, saved carts, or marketing purposes

Hybrid Configurations

Some storefronts operate in a hybrid mode — allowing public browsing (B2C) for marketing or informational purposes, but requiring a B2B account login to see wholesale pricing and place business orders.

MEO Configurations

In a Multi-Entity Organization (MEO) setup, each SellStack instance is its own storefront with a separate set of customer accounts. Having an active account in one instance does not grant access to another related instance.

  • Contacts must exist and be linked to a Business in the corresponding ERP Company for each instance
  • Accounts must complete email verification and password setup separately for each instance
  • Administrators should confirm which instance a customer is trying to access before troubleshooting

Admin Access

Administrators log in via a separate admin portal. Admin accounts are provisioned manually and are not created via 365 Cannabis sync. Admins can:

  • Manage products, orders, and customer records
  • Configure pricing, channels, and product menus
  • Approve lots, override prices, and enable visibility settings

Self-Registration

By default, B2B accounts cannot self-register — they must originate in 365 Cannabis. However, B2C self-registration can be enabled for consumer-facing scenarios if desired.

Troubleshooting Access

  • B2B: Confirm the Contact exists in 365 Cannabis, is linked to a Business, and has verified their email
  • B2C: Confirm age-gate configuration is correct and not blocking compliant visitors
  • MEO: Verify the account exists and is activated in the correct SellStack instance
  • Resend account activation links from the Admin Panel if needed
